Neighborly things........

I have lived in this house nearly 8 years and haven't really met too many neighbors......just passing one another with a wave........or from a distance.......and next directly next door a young family moved in recently! They are a younger couple than I, and have a daughter Madeline's age and a three year old boy......and we have been swimming in their pool some this summer......they have a great in ground pool, and they have been over to play and vice versa.....the husband has offered to help with charging my ac unit and a leak I have in my bathroom.......which has been so kind of him........the wife is so very sweet and we have gotten along very well.....she is super thoughtful and I think grateful for the company at times, due to doing her stay at home mama thing:) they are from Poland, and came here not actually that long ago.....their English is great though, impressive really, and communication is easy.....their kids are bilingual which is cool to listen to, and we just seem to have lots of fun together.......kindred spirit families.......Madeline in particular is taken by the entire thing......thrilled that a playmate is so close......and often spends time in the yard waiting for her friend to appear:) and even though the boy is 3 and Gabe is 15 they get along just fine too and are fond of one another.......it is nice to have neighbors around, sorta looking out.......not too far away if I needed anything and building a relationship with them.......yesterday they came to play for quite some time, and they set about to do kid stuff and explore new things, and I loved it.....it is the number one thing missing from childhood these days.....being a kid, outdoors, and using imagination......and it was fun to watch them all play and be reminded of the childhood I got to have......just the best.....all those summer adventures, being so free to roam about and find my way.....exploring every minute.......they built a fort.....had lots of snacks.......played tag.....jumped on the trampoline.....their mom came over and brought me a coffee which was super sweet and we visited......comparing grocery prices and talking motherhood......and I was grateful......glad to be forging this new relationship and building memories for my own kids.....we went for a long walk last night before dinner.....the day just sped by yesterday and got away from me, but I definitely wanted to get them outside......and when we came back we had dinner and I took my kids for ice cream......and then when we came back Mads was looking for the neighbors again....they invited them to come jump on their trampoline......the girls doing cartwheels.......and it was a lovely way to end our day......the kids slept great, and it makes my mama heart happy indeed....:)
