Chasing the sun, and a chance encounter.....

Yesterday was raining and then cloudy, but the sun was still in plain view shining away....we really do get to decide the experience we have while we are here......chasing the sun, and looking for the sun. We came here this weekend....knowing that it was supposed to be rainy and icky....and decided to grab ponchos and proceed.....and it rained in the morning while we sat in the sun porch..... looking at the lake, sipping coffee....I got to catch up with my parents and it was so nice.....and we chatted....and then we went out for a lovely brunch.....one of my favorite simple pleasures in life.....and then we drove over to Watkins Glen.....and it started to get brighter......and we sang every sunshine song we could think of on the way over....... "You are my Sunshine"....."Walking on Sunshine"......."Here comes the Sun"......you get the idea;-) and it began to work! ;-) Skys were clearing.....and then we learned that the park was mostly closed for the season still......BUT, we could climb up around the park.....and we did, we wandered the road less traveled, getting to peek in at the park some.....it just speaks to another return trip is all......and then as we were wandering.....I was coming up some stairs, and we saw a woman and her son walking, and she stopped me and asked if my son had William Syndrome....and I said yes....and she said I know you guys from FB......I am Melinda, and we have been FB friends, and I love your posts, they are so inspiring, and I love watching your journey, and we just erupted into this bonding fest.....hugging several times and immediately bonding about our shared lives, and based on our shared and special boys....and her son with WS was not with her, but her other son was, and he was lovely....and we had such a lovely conversation right on the trail.....exchanging numbers and seeking to stay in touch....she lives in Long Island so it is possible....and it felt divinely placed, as were the only ones there in the park...and gosh I love that stuff....I had seen an 11 on a random building in the woods a few minutes before and knew I was on the right track, and then there she was.....:) After we headed to Taughannock Falls....one of my favorites ever......it is just spectacular....higher than Niagara and just beautiful....and we explored that and had such a fun afternoon....we got over 5 miles in which was an awesome bonus.....and then we went out, and had a lovely dinner....and the entire day was about chasing the sun.....the stuff that keeps us smiling....life is too short for anything else....and we get to bring the positivity and smiles to any situation, and hope that that situation will meet us with that energy....and we don't need to put ourselves in situations that deplete us, or drain our energy, or don't do the same....I am chasing the light in this life.....very intentionally.....filling my soul with impacting lives, and spending time doing the things that feed my spirit, and ignite that fire in my belly, and it really is a powerful shift to make.....and one that makes all the difference....and as a random aside I used to wear a mouth guard when I slept, for years because I used to grind my teeth.....and if I did not wear it my jaw would kill me in the morning....and a year or so ago I stopped wearing it.....and we were talking about that in the car last night, and my dad said because you are not stressed Jenn....and happy, and all the rest....and I did not really think about that....but yeah....another confirmation that mindset matters above all else, and stress management and taking good care of ourselves.....and so I am full on chasing the sun, every day, all day.....and even if I have to "sing" it in, that works too:) Happy Sunday:)
